Mark is our lead clinician. He is an experienced Specialist General Practitioner with an interest in obesity and metabolic health.​​ Mark is available for consultations at the following clinic locations:

In 2025, Mark was awarded the Recognition of Extended Skills in Obesity Management by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP)—a pathway he helped create as part of a dedicated working group for the College.​​
​
Based in WA, Mark serves as the state lead for the RACGP Obesity Specific Interest Group. In this role, he is passionate about supporting healthcare professionals through education and training in obesity management and advocating for better access to care for people living with obesity.
Mark holds SCOPE certification, a globally recognised mark of expertise in obesity care, and earned the Postgraduate Diploma in Obesity and Weight Management (University of South Wales, 2025).​​

Mark is a Horizons mentor supporting the professional development of general practitioners in obesity care. A regular commentator and speaker at professional events, he presents to GPs, medical and surgical specialists, and allied health practitioners at educational events, seminars and conferences.
Mark provides advisory services to healthcare organisations and industry partners to support their strategic develoment of obesity health services and is a member of the Heart Foundation's Obesity and Cardiovascular Disease Taskforce working to support clinicians in delivering gold standard care in obesity and cardiovascular disease management.

Mark is a member of both the Australian and New Zealand Obesity Society (ANZOS) and the National Association of Clinical Obesity Services (NACOS).
